We are delighted to share that Beckton House, a project we have supported longstanding client Cassidy Group on since inception in 2021, has officially been completed.
DPP secured planning permission for the scheme via appeal in 2023, together with a full award of costs. The development provides 419 purpose-built student accommodation studios in the heart of Beeston, Nottinghamshire, close to both the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
Our involvement spanned the full life cycle of the project, from the initial planning appraisal and strategy advice, through to community engagement and preparation of the planning application. We also secured an officer recommendation for approval from Broxtowe Borough Council. Following the refusal of the application by Broxtowe’s Planning Committee, DPP successfully secured planning permission at appeal in 2023. We continued to support Cassidy Group through planning amendments and the discharge of conditions during the construction phase, which was delivered by Winvic.
After five years of collaboration and hard work, we are delighted that Beckton House will welcome its first students this month, following an opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting attended by English rugby legend Mike Tindall MBE.
Designed by Maber, each studio in the development features its own en-suite and kitchenette, alongside a range of shared amenities including a gym, cinema, longe areas, and a communal kitchen with dining space. The building has also achieved EPC A rating.
