Acting on behalf of Cassidy Group, DPP have submitted an application for new purpose built student accommodation at London Road in Nottingham.
DPP are pleased to have submitted plans on behalf of Cassidy Group for new Purpose-Built Student Accommodation at London Road, Nottingham. The plans will see the development of this largely cleared, city centre site to complete the local plan allocation alongside the adjoining Saffron Court residential development. There is an existing vacant Victorian warehouse building on the site and the plans will see the façade retained and integrated into the new development.
Designed by Maber, the scheme, which will provide 245 beds in a mix of clusters and studios, reflects both old and new, preserving the history of the site at the northern end whilst reflecting the facades and materials used at the adjacent Saffron Court development to the southern end of the site. The application will deliver high quality new student accommodation in a scheme of up to 8-storeys to help with the identified shortfall in Nottingham and will deliver financial contributions towards affordable housing which will be a significant public benefit.
Tom Molyneux-Wright, Principal Planner at DPP said:
We have worked closely with Nottingham City Council, Maber Architects, Fed3 and Cassidy Group to submit these plans. The Saffron Court residential development has already been completed by Cassidy Group and this proposal on the neighbourhing site has been designed to tie in with it and complete the local plan allocation. We are looking forward to working with the Council through the planning application process to bring development on this site forward.
