In Cardiff, Commercial, Permission secured

On behalf of Fidelity UK Real Estate Fund and in conjunction with Paragon Building Consultancy, DPP have secured delegated approval for the refurbishment and extension of Brunswick Gate office building in the centre of Southampton.

Designed by Spratley & Partners, the approved plans will improve the overall character and presence of the existing building by removing dated features and creating a more contemporary feel through amended elevations and add an additional storey to the building totalling nearly 1,500 sqm of net new office space. The approved plans represent significant new investment in office space within the city’s prime office area.

This follows DPP’s recent success in obtaining planning permission for Southampton’s tallest hotel and reflects our growing involvement in projects within the city.

Speaking about the successful outcome, Tom Wright said:

“We are delighted to secure consent for these development plans which will significantly improve the visual aesthetic of the existing building and ensure the building as a whole is brought up to modern standards. It’s pleasing to see continued investment in new office space within the city’s prime office area and the facilitation of sustainable travel with significantly increased cycle parking on site and new changing facilities. These development plans will be a welcome addition to Southampton’s city centre and we look forward to seeing the building upgrades carried out. ”
