In Commercial, Newcastle, Permission secured

On behalf of Richardson Barberry Forrest Park Ltd, DPP has secured reserved matters approval for Phase 1 of Forrest Park, a 55 hectare strategic employment site in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

Phase 1 will see the delivery of the first 8 units for industrial and warehousing use, totalling 77,155 sqm (830,500 sqft) of floorspace with associated road infrastructure and green corridor. The proposals represent a key investment in County Durham and will deliver significant job creation in the local area. DPP secured outline permission for the wider site, covering 55 hectares, in 2019 and subsequently were instructed to secure reserved matters approval for the first phase which marks a huge step forward for delivery of this site. Once fully built out the site could create more than 3,000 jobs, boosting County Durham’s economy by almost £500m.

Nicola Crowley, Principal Planner at DPP said:

DPP are delighted to have secured approval for this strategically important employment site in County Durham which will result in significant job creation for the local area. It’s position near the A1 makes it an ideal location for an employment facility and it will provide a range of unit sizes to suit all business needs.
