DPP has confirmed the appointment of four new Assistant Planners across the business as part of its annual graduate recruitment programme.

The appointments support the continued growth of the business and form part of its annual commitment to recruit the best new graduates in the planning profession.

This is the third year of DPP’s dedicated graduate recruitment programme, which is part of its strategy to promote growth within the company.

The four latest additions are:

Matthew Appleby joined the Newcastle office part time in April and has now become a permanent full time employee.  Matthew is studying  Mplan Urban Planning at Newcastle University. He enjoys motorcycling, being an RAF reservist and listening to Bruce Springsteen.

Ellie-Mae Shelton joins the Leeds Office straight from her MPLAN course at Leeds Beckett Uni although prior to and during her course, she has spent time working in Kirklees and Leeds City Council Planning Teams. Ellie-Mae loves rugby league, specifically watching the Bradford Bulls and Sydney Rabbitohs.

Joe Morgan joins the Cardiff office, having recently completed MSc in Spatial Planning and Development. Joe has a keen interest in stand-up comedy, a useful skill working as a planner.

Finally Jack Waugh joins the Leeds office having recently completed an MPlan in Urban Studies and Planning where he achieved a first. Jack is in a band and loves playing live music. He is also a football fanatic, supporting Manchester United.

Speaking about the appointments, Gareth Hooper, DPP Chief Executive Officer, said:

We are delighted to welcome our four latest Assistant Planners. All of them come with excellent academic records, but through our recruitment process, they have also demonstrated an ability to apply their knowledge to real-life planning scenarios.

This is our third year of an annual intake of graduates, a programme we have developed to support our growth by developing staff from within the company.

All our Assistant Planners are supported with a technical and professional skills training programme as well as a mentoring system to support their development. We are proud of the growth individuals within the company have shown in response to this support and we look forward to seeing Matthew, Ellie-Mae, Joe and Jack doing likewise.
