In Leeds, Permission secured, Residential

Acting on behalf of Strata and Great Places Housing Group, DPP have secured planning committee approval for 76 affordable dwellings along with managed urban greenspace in Catcliffe, Rotherham.

The 76 affordable units will be constructed by Strata and will be managed by Great Places Housing Group, a provider of affordable housing with a long history of providing affordable homes and taking an active approach to housing and neighbourhood management and working with local communities. The scheme also includes an area of urban greenspace with a managed woodland, wildflower grassland and a network of footpaths that will deliver areas of high amenity and wildlife value.

DPP prepared, submitted and managed the planning application, working closely with the LPA and statutory consultee throughout to resolve queries relating to landscaping, trees, drainage and connectivity. As a result, the application had no objections from technical consultees and was subsequently approved at planning committee.

Speaking about the consent, Associate Director Matthew Rhodes said:

“We are pleased to have secured permission following several months of discussions with the Council. This scheme will deliver much needed affordable homes, and at the same time, dramatically improve the recreation and amenity value of the site for new and existing residents”
