On behalf of ECF, DPP has secured planning permission for a new 22-storey building comprising 189 no. 1 to 3 bed residential apartments at Plot A1 of the Salford Central Masterplan, Salford. Designed by Hawkins Brown, the development will secure the comprehensive delivery of the Masterplan which originally secured outline consent in May 2017.
The Salford Central Masterplan area is subject to an extensive planning history across the 17 hectare area. DPP have now secured planning permission for 17 of the Masterplan plots, with Plot A1 being one of the few remaining plots still to be delivered.
As well as the scheme contributing to meeting the demand for 1 and 2 bed affordable apartments, the scheme will foster a sense of community by providing good quality shared amenity space and contributing towards a positive neighbourhood, which is beneficial not just for the future residents of the building but the wider surroundings of the site.
DPP has engaged with Salford City Council throughout the planning application process and look forward to working with English Cities Fund and the wider team to support the delivery of this new apartment block, continuing the transformation of the masterplan area.
Speaking about the consent, Helen Marks, Director at DPP said:
Having supported ECF on the preparation and delivery of the Salford Crescent Masterplan since 2010, we are delighted that planning consent has now been secured for the last plot with the ambition to deliver this as a fully affordable housing scheme, making a significant contribution to the original vision for the area.
