Acting on behalf of Octopi Property Ltd, DPP has submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of Cliffemount Hotel to provide a sustainable, landmark 3-storey hotel including a pub and restaurant in Runswick Bay.
The application will see the demolition of a currently derelict hotel and its replacement with a highly efficient Passivhaus hotel which, if approved, would make the new Cliffemount Hotel the first Passivhaus hotel in the UK.
Designed by Bowman Riley, the intention of the proposal is to deliver a new building that will contribute to the character of Runswick Bay whilst also supporting the local community, economically in terms of jobs and investment, as well as socially as a place to visit and meet.
Pre-application discussions with the Council and public consultation with the people of Runswick Bay has been overwhelming positive to date, and we look forward to managing the planning application through the determination process.
