Project Description

New schools

One Degree and Wren Academy, Enfield

DPP were appointed by Bowmer and Kirkland to secure planning permission for a 3FE Primary School for One Degree Academy and a 6FE Sixth Form Secondary School for Wren Academy with an associated community hub and sports provision. The schools form part of the ongoing redevelopment of the former Chase Farm Hospital Site which also comprises a new hospital and residential developments.

DPP also secured planning permission for 2 temporary schools on a separate parcel of land on the former hospital site to house the schools during construction of the new permanent schools.

Achievements

DPP successful secured planning permission for the new permanent schools, followed by the temporary schools, which will meet an identified need in the local area and will serve the education needs created by the residential development at the Chase Farm site.

DPP led pre-application discussions with the Council and prepared the relevant planning documents to demonstrate that the proposals were in accordance with local, regional and national policy and would not negatively impact upon the nearby Green Belt and heritage assets.
