Project Description

Affordable Housing

Ffordd Yr Eglwys, Bridgend

Built using Welsh  Government grant funding during the pandemic, these dwellings were constructed using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and to a high energy efficiency standard. The four one-bedroom homes are used to provide permanent accommodation to those that were temporarily housed during the pandemic.

The site was previously occupied by a derelict building and was causing significant anti-social behaviour. The re-development of the site has therefore brought much needed new housing and significantly improved the character and appearance of the area.

A key element of this project was programme. To secure grant funding, planning permission had to be in place within a specific timeframe. DPP worked closely with the Council during pre-application discussions and post submission to ensure a smooth process.

Matters around neighbour amenity and highway access were quickly resolved through to secure planning permission within 8-weeks.

The dwellings are now complete and provide accommodation for those in desperate need.
