Acting on behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council, DPP have secured planning permission for a new Leisure and Wellbeing Hub at land to the west of Caerphilly Business Park, Caerphilly.
The exciting scheme will replace the current outdated facility at Virginia Park and will enhance the sporting and leisure provision in the town. The facility includes a new six-lane 25m community swimming pool, café area and community hub space, health suite with treatment rooms, children’s adventure soft play and ‘Tag Active’ arena, as well as a four-court sports hall, two squash courts, and fitness suites/studios.
The location of the Hub was chosen following a comprehensive assessment of all potential sites in the town. Designed by Watson Batty Architects, the facility aims to create a unique and distinctive destination for the community that will increase participation in the wide variety of sport and wellbeing activities promoted as well as creating a new community ‘heart’ to bring people together and give the community a space to be proud of.
Speaking about the planning approval, Jo Robison, Director at DPP, said:
DPP are delighted to have been involved in the planning application for this amazing project that will deliver much improved sports and leisure facilities to the town of Caerphilly. As we have seen across many other towns, such new and exciting leisure provision significantly increases participation in sport and wellbeing activities and brings communities together in such a positive way. We look forward to seeing the development progress.
