In Education, Leeds, Permission secured

Acting on behalf of the Elliott Group, DPP are delighted to have secured a resolution to grant planning permission for a new secondary school in Bolton.

The new school will provide a modern teaching facility for 900 pupils and address a critical need for secondary school places within south Bolton. The school will also serve as a focal point for the community by providing local residents with access to new indoor and outdoor sports facilities and classrooms.

The site lies within the Green Belt with DPP required to demonstrate ‘very special circumstances’ in order to justify the development in this sensitive location.

The school forms part of the Department for Education’s MOD C (Secondary Schools) Framework.

Speaking about the consent, Associate Director, Matt Rhodes said:

We are delighted to continue to work alongside Elliott in delivering high-quality schools. The DfE continues to focus on modular construction as a way of addressing the country’s need for new and improved schools and we are pleased to be assisting with the delivery of numerous modular school projects up and down the country.
