We are delighted to announce the promotion four rising stars at our Newcastle, Leeds and Cardiff offices to further strengthen the business and promote talent from within.

Lauren Hunter, who is promoted from Planner to Senior Planner, joined DPP in January 2017 on a work placement while at Newcastle University, before being appointed as Assistant Planner in June 2017.

During the last six years, Lauren has worked across a broad spectrum of projects from residential developments and schools to university projects such as the Citadels in Carlisle and many of DPP’s Durham University schemes. Lauren is currently working on several RAF sites, including in Kinloss, Scotland.

Chris Wallace joined DPP’s Leeds office in October 2021 and has been promoted from Assistant Planner to Planner.

Chris has worked on various projects throughout the company and has progressed to project management of several small-scale planning applications for Starbucks drive-throughs, as well as gaining valuable experience on development plan representations and numerous school applications.

Tom Quille, who joined DPP’s Cardiff office in 2021 as part of DPP’s first annual graduate planner intake, has been promoted from Assistant Planner to Planner.

In the last two years, Tom has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from student accommodation to Lidl stores. More recently, Tom has overseen the submission of 15 electrical vehicle charging hubs.

The Cardiff office has also promoted Leo Horton-Taylor, who joined DPP two years ago, from Assistant Planner to Planner. Since then, he has gained valuable knowledge and technical skills across a range of sectors and geographical locations.

Last Summer, Leo organised a hugely successful charity five-a-side football tournament in aid of Shelter. In the past six months, he has been instrumental in the three planning appeals as well as taking an active role in several school projects.

Gareth Hooper, DPP’s chief executive, said:

We believe in rewarding talent at DPP, and this is reflected by these well-deserved promotions.

Unlocking new talent and overseeing their professional development is key to the success of our business and how we support our clients.

Lauren, Chris, Tom and Leo have all demonstrated strong professional progress during the last year and have made a significant contribution to the company.

DPP is delighted to help them in developing their careers and wish them continued success.
