We are delighted to announce the appointment of several assistant planners across the summer through our highly successful graduate programme.
We have invested in a wealth of talented graduates through the programme over recent years, many of whom have gone on to progress within the company. This summer has been no exception, with the appointments of Dan Martin, Isabelle Heap, Ellie Howell and Kuba Sala.
The most recent hire via the scheme, Dan Martin, joined our Newcastle office at the start of October after completing a five-year Master of Planning Course at Newcastle University. Dan joins us with public sector planning experience, having spent a year of his course working in the development management and spatial planning teams at South Tyneside Council.
Ellie Howell has also joined our Newcastle office. Like Dan, Ellie has come to DPP with a year of public sector planning experience and a Master of Planning degree, having also graduated from Newcastle University this summer. Ellie worked for Stockport Council’s planning policy team for a year contributing to the early stages of the authority-wide design code document, as Stockport was chosen by the government as a local authority to go on its Design Code Pathfinder programme.
Our Leeds office has welcomed Isabelle Heap last month after she completed her undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of Sheffield. Isabelle will be extending her studies alongside her new role at DPP, working part-time towards a Master’s degree in Urban Planning at Sheffield Hallam University.
Kuba Sala also joined our Cardiff office as part of the graduate scheme earlier in the year, initially working part-time while also studying a planning degree at Cardiff University. Kuba is now taking a year out from his studies to work full time with DPP but will keep working for the consultancy for two-days per week when he returns to university next year to complete his degree.
Gareth Hooper, CEO of DPP Planning, said:
“I’d like to extend a warm welcome to DPP to Dan, Isabelle, Ellie and Kuba. Each of you have already proven yourselves to be exceptionally talented individuals, so it’s very exciting for us to have you all on board. I can’t wait to see you grow and thrive as professionals during your time with us – I’m sure you will go on to achieve great things.
“We’ve long been proud of our graduate programme at DPP. Much of our existing team joined us as graduates and have since progressed in the consultancy, which is a testament to just how successful the programme has been in helping graduates take the first step in their careers.
“Our commitment to helping young planning professionals get their start in the industry is well known, and this latest wave of hires demonstrates the high calibre of talent we’re attracting to the consultancy as a result.”
