In Manchester, Student Accommodation

On behalf of Q Developments, DPP have submitted a full planning application for a 27 storey, 538 bedspace PBSA scheme located within the Salford Crescent Framework Area.  The site is the former McDonald’s HQ building on Cross Lane, which is a gateway site to the University of Salford and the wider Crescent area.

Designed by Broadway Malyan, the 27 storey tower will provide 538 student bedspaces across a mix of accommodation types, with associated internal amenity space at ground/first floor level and sky garden on the 19th floor of the ‘shoulder block’. The scheme will also feature a generous external public realm area and will safeguard the zone earmarked for the future Salford Crescent Transport Hub.  In reaching this point, DPP has worked closely with the client, design team and Local Planning Authority through a lengthy and detailed pre-application consultation exercise.

Kayleigh Dixon, Associate Director at DPP said:

We are delighted to be working with Q Developments in bringing this vacant, brownfield site forward for a high-quality PBSA scheme.  The scheme will contribute to the ongoing investment in the Crescent area, it is ideally located close to the University of Salford, and it will provide much needed student bedspaces, as evidenced by the Knight Frank Student Demand study which accompanies the planning application
