Project Description

New Residential neighbourhood

Waverley Central, Rotherham

Waverley Central comprises the latest phase of the multi-million-pound Waverley development which has transformed this former colliery into a new residential neighbourhood alongside a district centre and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

Sitting at the entrance to the new neighbourhood and alongside the future shopping and leisure area, Waverley Central consists of 96 dwellings of 2-bed, 3-bed, and 4-bed houses with a focus on higher densities to create an urban centre for the wider development. Shared gardens and 3-storey house types helps to achieve this.

Achievements

DPP were brought on by Sky House Co to prepare, submit and manage the reserved matters application on the site, which had specific requirements set from the previous outline consent.

As well as the usual Planning Statement and submission documents, DPP were key in the wide ranging and detailed discussions required to ensure that the best possible development was put forward that met the Council’s expectations and aspirations for this prominent site. This included liaising with architects, consultants, and the client to resolve matters relating to design, amenity, drainage, trees, and S.106 requirements.
