On behalf of Zeal Hotel (Exeter) Ltd, DPP have prepared and submitted a Reserved Matters application with details of access, layout, scale, appearance, and landscaping for the construction of a hotel (Class C1), with ancillary flexible workspace/café/conference facilities on the ground floor and associated access, parking, landscaping, and infrastructure.
The overarching aspiration for the applicant is to create an industry leading brand and sustainable hotel without compromising on the guest experience and comfort levels. In line with this aspiration the proposed development seeks to provide a sustainable 142-bed hotel through the incorporation of innovative, low carbon design standards that will target operational net zero and aspire to achieve life zero carbon.

ACHIEVEMENTS

DPP coordinated and submitted the planning application working closely with Zeal Hotels and the appointed Design Team led by architectural practice ECE Westworks and contractors Red Construction South West. Zeal is targeting carbon net zero, with the hotel seeking to reduce emissions rather than offset them. The challenge includes the construction and operation of the hotel , with Zeal accountable not only for their own emissions (Scope 1 & 2) but the construction and operation supply chains emissions (Scope 3) as well.
