Electric Vehicle Charging

Value

Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities

DPP are currently engaged on a number of schemes for electric vehicle charging facilities.

These include submitting representations to the new Selby Local Plan to seek an allocation for an ultra fast charging hub on a former Little Chef site which is an important gateway site to the Selby District, York and the east coast.  DPP have argued that the delivery of such infrastructure is a key priority for the UK Government and  as such specific forward planning needs to be undertaken to ensure that when such sites come forward there are no issues over the principle of the use.

DPP are instructed by Grundon Waste Management and SSE to review sites for electric vehicle charging points powered directly from the source of energy rather than the main Grid. DPP have secured planning permission for one such scheme within the Green Belt and are progressing pre-application discussions on another.

We are also engaged in several commercial schemes that include EV charging hubs. Developers are seeing the benefit of providing such facilities as part of their developments that will also include a drive-thru facility and/or other uses such as small retail. Given the pressing need for charging infrastructure, including such facilities can assist in providing additional justification for a development proposal.
