Acting on behalf of Karbon Homes, DPP continue to promote land at Boroughbridge Road, York, for allocation within the City of York Local Plan. Karbon Homes are one of Yorkshire’s largest affordable housing providers, and seeking to develop the site in question to enable the delivery of new affordable homes in York.

DPP have continued to promote the site in question throughout the preparation of the City of York Local Plan. DPP have prepared detailed representations in advance of the Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 hearings. In doing so, DPP have collated a wide range of evidence outlining the need for additional affordable houses in York, which ranks as one of the most unaffordable cities to live in Yorkshire. DPP have also collated a wide range of supporting information, to demonstrate that the site is deliverable, and that there are no technical issues that would prevent a development of the site.

DPP have also attended the Phase 1 and Phase 2 hearings on behalf of the developer, to promote the allocation of the site, and to advocate for the delivery of more affordable homes through the local plan process. DPP look forward to attending the Phase 3 hearings to further discuss how the significant shortfall of affordable homes in York can be addressed.
