Former Airedale Mills, Rodley

Acting on behalf of Casa by Moda, DPP were instructed to submit a planning application seeking the approval of reserved matters, for a residential development of the former Airedale Mills site in Rodley, Leeds.  The scheme involves the erection of 67 build-to-rent units on a particularly challenging previously developed site.

Achievements

Preparing an application, DPP were required to carefully consider how a development of the site could be achieved within the parameters of the outline permission granted by the Council, whilst also addressing the various constraints associated with the site. Lying adjacent to a SSSI, and between both the River Aire, and the Leeds-Liverpool canal, developing an acceptable scheme has been particularly challenging. Despite a significant amount of public and member interest in the site, DPP have been able to persuade officers to support the scheme (and have resolved a Natural England and Environment Agency objection in doing so).
