Working on behalf of S Harrison Developments Ltd and Travelodge Hotels Ltd, DPP co-ordinated and submitted a full application for a 127-bedroom hotel in Lincoln’s historic core.  

The site comprised a vacant brownfield site, in need of regeneration, and adjacent to Lincoln’s new Transport Hub and the new east-west Link Road, in part of the City which is undergoing significant transformation. The site sits within a Conservation Area with long distance views to and from Lincoln Cathedral being a key consideration 

DPP successfully gained planning consent in May 2017 and the hotel opened in 2018. 

ACHIEVEMENTS

DPP provided strategic advice and attended pre-application meetings with the Council during which extensive discussions regarding the design and appearance of the 5-storey building were held. Our Planning Statement included an assessment of the scheme on nearby Heritage assets, including a number of Listed buildings, as well as demonstrating that views of the Cathedral would not be adversely impacted.
