CLEVELAND COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN (CCAD)
Planning services were provided in respect of two sites at Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD); Church Square and Lynn Street.
CCAD aim is that the campus will be the focal point for the Church Street Innovation and Skills Quarter with its “thriving daytime economy centred around the creative industries’’. CCAD intend to positively contribute to this, with the Lynn Street/Church Square proposals being the first stage of several. This involves the redevelopment of the ‘Lynn Street Depot Site’ for offices, external amphitheatre, new workshops and studios (Phase 1) and the demolition of the current workshop and studio at the existing Church Square site to allow the erection of new educational accommodation comprising lecture theatre and café (Phase 2).
Provided planning services on two sites for the College in Hartlepool. One site contains Listed Buildings and both sites sit within or next to a Conservation Area. Heritage, highways, flood risk and design were the key site issues which were overcome by the detailed planning submission. Planning permission was successfully secured within a tight timescale.
