On behalf of Buckinghamshire Properties Limited, DPP Planning has secured planning approval for the Reserved Matters submission for Phase 2 of Jade Business Park, Murton, County Durham.
Jade Business Park is a 55-acre site in a premier location for distribution, technology and advanced manufacturing companies. Phase 1 is complete and comprises seven industrial units, totalling 155,000sq ft.
The site is fully let with tenants including Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems Europe (SEWS-E), innovative modular house builder Corehaus, and solar power innovator Power Roll. RG Distributors Ltd T/A, ECatering, and Low Carbon Materials also have units at the park.
Building on the success of Phase 1, planning approval for Phase 2 was secured in February 2026, allowing for the construction of three industrial units with associated access, parking, landscaping and drainage. The Reserved Matters submission provided details of layout, scale, appearance, access and landscaping, in accordance with the outline planning permission previously granted for the wider site.
The three units will provide approximately 20,637sqm Gross External Area (GEA) of Class B2/B8 industrial, storage and distribution floorspace. Designed by Frank Shaw Associates, the development has been carefully planned to deliver high-quality industrial accommodation within a well-considered layout. The design incorporates appropriate access arrangements, parking provision and landscaping.
The proposals are intended to support the continued growth of the business park, providing modern employment floorspace to meet demand for industrial and logistical uses in the area. This will contribute towards strengthening the area’s employment opportunities and supporting economic growth.
Following grant of the permission, DPP Planning will continue supporting the project team with further applications, such as the associated Discharge of Condition applications.
Helen Marks, Director at DPP Planning, said:
“We are delighted to have supported Buckinghamshire Properties Limited in securing planning permission for Phase 2 at Jade Business Park. The approval will enable the delivery of three new high-quality industrial units and represents an important next step in the continued development of the business park.”
