INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the public consultation page for Starburst Ltd’s Windmill Park for Proposed Units of Class B1/B2/B8 Uses (Phase 5), together with associated parking and access arrangements at Windmill Park, Hayes Road, Barry, CF63 3RA.

A planning application for these proposals is due to be submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council shortly, and in line with national legislation we are providing you with the opportunity to view and comment in advance of the submission.

BACKGROUND

The site relates to previously developed land at The Chemical Complex, Barry which is a designated employment site under MD16 in the adopted Vale of Glamorgan Local Development (June 2017). The site is currently vacant and is surrounded by industrial developments associated with the previously approved phases of the development (phases 1-4).

To the south west of the site are a small number of residential properties on Hayes Road. The Cadoxton River (flowing north east to south west) is to the north of the subject site, beyond which is the DOW industrial complex.

The aim of this proposal is to develop a new provision of buildings to support employment within the area in Barry.

THE CONSULTATION

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE) (WALES) ORDER 2012.

Proposed development at Land at Windmill Park, Hayes Road, Barry, CF63 3RA.

We give notice that Starburst Ltd. is intending to apply for planning permission to Vale of Glamorgan Council for the following development:

“The erection of Class B1/B2/B8 Development (Phase 5) together with associated parking and access arrangements.”

Prior to formal submission to the Local Planning Authority and in accordance with the requirements set out in Part 1A of the Town & Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012, the proposal will be subject to pre-application consultation.

All relevant drawings, reports and supplementary supporting documents are made available for inspection and review online below.

Anyone who wishes to make representations about this proposed development must do so by the 11th of September, 2023.
