Matthew RhodesPrincipal Planner

Matt joined DPP as an Assistant Planner in 2015 progressing rapidly to become Principal Planner in 2019. His experience covers all aspects of the planning process including the provision of strategic advice; the preparation and submission of applications, including Environmental Impact Assessments; coordinating community engagement exercises; and the promotion of land through the development plan process.

Matt has worked on numerous major projects across a variety of sectors including, education, residential, retail, energy from waste and leisure. The complex nature of many projects often requires him to manage large multi-disciplinary teams through the planning process and negotiate with local authorities and key stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes that are commercially viable.

With a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture from Newcastle University and a distinction in his MA in Town Planning from Leeds Becket University, Matt is also a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
