Metropolitan Open Land Development


Barclay and Athena Schools, Waltham Forest

Combined development of Two New Schools on the site of the old Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road. The site is designated Metropolitan Open Land is constrained by flooding and air quality constraints.

DPP project managed the planning application process, provided sequential sites assessments, input on educational need assessments and submitted an Environmental Screening note.

DPP co-ordinated the planning application process as well as subsequent revisions to the scheme. DPP undertook extensive pre-applications discussions with the London Borough of Waltham Forest, the Greater London Authority and Transport for London and assisted in a number of public consultation events.

A decision on the application is anticipated in late 2018.
