DPP Cardiff has secured consent for an affordable housing scheme on a brownfield site in Barry, on behalf of Pegasus Developments and Newydd Housing Association.
The application was submitted in April 2015 after nine months of close negotiations between Pegasus Developments, Newydd, the design team and the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s housing and planning sections.
The scheme comprises 30 units, a mix of one and two bedroom properties including three adapted units and was designed by HMA. DPP undertook a detailed community engagement exercise at pre-application stage and continued to liaise closely with adjoining residents and the local ward members throughout the process.
“DPP ensured a smooth passage for the application through the planning process, in spite of significant objections from local residents. DPP were proactive in dealing with issues as soon as they arose and their close working relationship with officers and members within the Council was key to the success of the project.”
Adrian Hancock, Director at Pegasus Developments
“DPP have provided an excellent service and their hard work has been reflected in the successful outcome of securing planning permission for 30 much needed affordable housing units within Barry”
Victoria Bolton, Development Manager at Newydd Housing Association
