Proposals for the creation of 16 new affordable dwellings in Frodsham
Welcome to our public consultation page for the exciting proposals for the creation of 16 no. affordable dwellings at Meadow Court, Frodsham.
DPP Planning are preparing to submit a planning application for the proposed development to Cheshire West and Chester Council. The proposals will involve the creation of 16 new affordable dwellings and associated infrastructure on the site of the former Meadow Court.
The application is being submitted on behalf of Weaver Vale Housing Trust who are a housing association which operates in Cheshire and Warrington.
Undertaking public consultation with local residents in advance of submitting a planning application is an important part of the process for Weaver Vale and allows members of the public and the local community to engage with the vision for the site and to provide valuable feedback on the proposals.
The site provides an ideal opportunity for the provision of new affordable housing on a currently undeveloped parcel of land in a sustainable location, within an existing residential area. An aerial image of the site is shown below:
The Proposed Development
The proposals are for the creation of 16 new affordable dwellings. The dwellings will be sustainably designed to meet up-to-date environmental requirements and will be accessible. The site will contain a mix of semi-detached houses and apartments to meet a range of local housing needs.
Access into the site will utilise the existing entrance from Clifton Crescent to the north and will provide sufficient car parking within the site.
The site will make effective use of existing brownfield land in a sustainable location to deliver affordable housing for residents. The proposals will form a smaller scale of development than the buildings which previously occupied the site and has been designed to respond to the character of the area.
Weaver Vale Housing Trust aspire for the development proposals to be of Modern Methods of Construction and have been specifically designed to be low carbon. Off-site construction of the dwellings will result in a significant reduction of construction related impacts to neighbouring amenity and will greatly increase the speed of delivery for the houses on site.
