In Leeds, Permission secured, Retail & Town Centres

DPP Leeds office has secured consent for a new Co-operative Group food store in Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire on behalf of client, Rydale Garages (1946) Ltd.

The site is located outside of the defined town centre, and required extensive engagement with the local community, councillors and the LPA, in order to identify sustainability as the key issue for residents and a local environmental group. As these issues were addressed, DPP achieved a delegated decision without the need to go to committee.

We are delighted to have assisted Ryedale Garages and The Co-operative Group in gaining planning permission for this new store in Kirkbymoorside. Providing a more sustainable store, and a new modern shopping experience for the town was vital to its success.
