DPP have submitted a landmark hotel proposal in Southampton.
The 16 storey proposals designed by HGP Architects will provide 283 hotel rooms and, if approved, will become the tallest hotel in Southampton.
The proposals create a landmark connection between St Mary’s and the city centre and redevelop a site which has remained undeveloped for the past 5 years.
Gareth Hooper, CEO of DPP said:
“This application will create a landmark building regenerating a centrally located brownfield site. The proposals will also deliver much needed high-quality hotel accommodation to the city providing significant economic gains.”
Councillor Satvir Kaur, Cabinet Member for Culture & Homes at Southampton City Council said:
“Good to hear of the plans for this development. It will not only provide much needed local jobs but will be a valuable addition as we cement Southampton as a cultural destination and grow our visitor economy.”
