DPP Leeds has secured planning consent for 31 new dwellings on a former nursery at Swanland in East Yorkshire on behalf of Linden Homes North. The 1.64 Hectare site is 800m from the village centre of Swanland and is allocated for housing development as part of the East Riding Local Plan.
DPP‘s work involved managing contentious public issues such as the demolition of a local garden centre and the subsequent loss of a community facility.
By undertaking an extensive public consultation exercise with local residents, liaising with other consultancies involved in the application and engaging with the Local Planning Authority from the pre-application stage through to decision. The result was DPP securing planning permission for 31 dwellings on a site initially allocated for 15.
