PROPOSED NEW 3-16 CATHOLIC SCHOOL AT THE SITE OF BISHOP HEDLEY CAMPUS AND LAND TO THE WEST OF GALON UCHAF ROAD.
The new all-through 3 to 16 age range school will replace the existing St Aloysius RC Primary Campus, the Federation of St Illtyd’s RC and St Mary’s RC Primary Campuses and Bishop Hedley High Campus. The proposal is to demolish the existing school buildings (albeit retaining the existing more modern sports hall) on the Bishop Hedley Campus site and to redevelop for a new school building, sports facilities and associated works. The proposal will include a single sports pitch on land located to the west of Galon Uchaf Road, along with a temporary staff car park and construction compound.
The new school will accommodate a 525-pupil place primary school with a 100 full time equivalent pupil place nursery and a 600 pupil (4 form entry) secondary school with community use.
Prior to the submission of the formal planning application we are required to undertake formal pre-application consultation. Further details are outlined below.
