The Blackburn Wing at Wetherby’s Bowcliffe Hall has been awarded an RIBA North East award for it’s striking design in a historic setting.This modern project took note of the historic associations the hall had with aviation history and characterised it within the building’s design.

The practice’s architect, The Harris Partnership, were announced as winners on the 1st May.

DPP’s work at the Grade II Bowcliffe Hall delivered the client’s wish to provide innovative and high quality contemporary conferencing facilities in a historical setting. DPP demonstrated that the proposed works would not be harmful to the significance of the building and its context. Through establishing good working relationships from scheme inception the application was determined within 8 weeks, thus delivering the clients commercial aspirations and objectives.
